Coder Dojo: Computer Programming for Kids (Mon. 9 Jun, 2014 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

This series is designed to teach computer programming to teach kids 8 years old and older. Participants will need to bring their own laptops, programming will all be web based. 

Film Screening: Monsters University (2013) G (Mon. 9 Jun, 2014 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm)

Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn't always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn't stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

Orem Children's Orchestra Concert (Mon. 9 Jun, 2014 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

This group of young string musicians will delight audience members with their enthusiasm and music.

Teen Summer Reading: Bookbinding (Tue. 10 Jun, 2014 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

Learn the art of bookbinding from our resident library expert. We will repurpose old children’s books to create new journals or sketch books.

Shakespeare for Kids: Twelfth Night (Wed. 11 Jun, 2014 11:30 am - 12:30 pm)

Twelfth Night: In classic Shakespearean comedy style, mistaken identity temporarily detours the course of true love between Viola, Duke Orsino and Olivia in Twelfth Night. Becky and Joel Wallin from BYU’s Young Company will lead kids 5 and older through this delightful story of love and humor.

PERC Game Day (Wed. 11 Jun, 2014 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

Teens are invited to join the PERC staff for an afternoon of board games. Don’t miss this opportunity to have fun, learn some new games and make some friends. 

WeNooch Society (Wed. 11 Jun, 2014 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

The WeNooch Society, a local historical preservation group, holds a monthly meeting with selected guest speakers and topics. The public is invited to join their monthly meetings featuring local experts.

Tumbleweeds Film Festival Screening: Khumba (2013) NR (Sat. 14 Jun, 2014 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

Join us for a screening of a children’s film about Khumba, half-striped zebra in a stripe-obsessed herd. Quirky characters abound as Khumba works to earn his stripes amidst great obstacles, finding courage and self-acceptance along the way.  Come enjoy some free popcorn and a great children’s film screening made possible by the Tumbleweeds Children’s Film Festival.

Sign Up for Program Announcements

About the City of Orem Library

The Orem Library is open Monday through Friday 9am until 9pm and on Saturdays from 9am until 6pm. We are closed Sundays and Holidays. Click here for a list of observed holidays.

If you need to return books outside of these hours, a 24 drive through book and media drop is located on the North side of the Library.

The Main Library is located at 58 North State Street in Orem, Utah at the north end of the City Center Complex (on the northeast corner of State and Center Streets). Parking is to the east of the library building and is accessed from 100 North. If you need assistance please call 229-7050.
