Children and their parents are invited to come sing, dance, and experience stories with storytellers in the Storytelling Wing. 

Shakespeare for Kids: Much Ado About Nothing (Mon. 6 Jul, 2015 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Claudio and Hero fall in love, but the villainous Don John plots to ruin Hero’s reputation. Meanwhile, Hero’s witty cousin Beatrice strikes up a love/hate relationship with Benedick, a bachelor. Becky and Joel Wallin from BYU’s Young Company will lead kids 5 and older through this story of love and humor.

A young brontosaurus named Littlefoot teams up with other young dinosaurs in order to reunite with their families in the legendary Great Valley.

Summer Concerts in the Park: Annie's Romance (A Celtic Band) (Mon. 6 Jul, 2015 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

Annie’s Romance is a four-member band founded in 2012 by Robert Macdonald, who earned his master’s degree in folklore focusing on Cape Breton fiddling and tune composition. They perform traditional Celtic music throughout the Wasatch Front featuring guitar, bagpipes, fiddle, flute, penny whistle, mandolin, banjo, and vocals.

Join us for live music at the Stage at City Center Park. Performances begin at 7:00 PM and are free and open to the public. Feel free to bring your own chairs or blankets to sit on.

CoderDojo: Computer Coding for Kids (Wed. 8 Jul, 2015 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

Are you a coding ninja? Would you like to become one? Join us this summer at the library to meet other computer coders and mentors, learn new languages, and work on your own projects such as games and mods. Kids 8 and up are invited, as well as teens and parents. All levels and abilities are welcome. Death by Aria (Fri. 10 Jul, 2015 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

Death By Aria is an elimination-based vocal competition for opera singers from all over the USA who come to Utah each summer to perform operas and receive training with Utah Lyric Opera. The competition is an audience participation event, designed to encourage singers to find ways to appeal to the non-opera goer. Judges are chosen from all walks of life (EXCEPT MUSIC), and the audience will advance or reject singers as they perform opera arias in 3 rounds of elimination. The last one standing takes home cash and prizes, while the rest suffer death by aria.
