Primary Search Provides full text for more than 70 popular magazines for elementary school students. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator, and full text information dates as far back as 1990. To access this resource, log in with your library card and PIN number by clicking here, then choose “Full list of EBSCO databases” on the left-side menu. Searchasaurus for Kids Will help both children (Preschool through Sixth Grade) and their parents by enabling them to search thousands of articles, an online general encyclopedia and a ton of information about animals from around the world. It has an encyclopedia, dictionary, pictures and other visuals built right in. You will find full text or pictures from magazines or other sources. Searchasaurus has information on different kinds of animals, art and music, science and math, health and lots, lots more. Middle Search Plus Provides full text for more than 140 popular, middle school magazines. Full text is also available for thousands of biographies and historical essays. Middle Search Plus also contains 84,774 biographies, 105,786 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 341,655 photos, maps and flags. To access this resource, log in with your library card and PIN number by clicking here, then choose “Full list of EBSCO databases” on the left-side menu. SIRS Discoverer for Kids Is a great research database with articles and graphics from more than 1,600 U.S. and international magazines and newspapers for kids from preschool through sixth grade. It is updated daily which makes it a powerful resource for current events. This database contains the 2006 World Almanac for Kids, the Encyclopedia Britannica, a Country Facts link that provides information on countries around the world in a brief fact format along with maps and flags, maps, images, short stories, and more. Once you’ve done your search, articles can be e-mailed to your own e-mail address. Biography Resource Center integrates award-winning biographies with related full-text articles from hundreds of magazines and newspapers, as well as tens of thousands of images, reference books, and links to vetted websites. Search for people---both current and historic from all eras and fields of endeavor---based on name, occupation, nationality, etc. You can use this online resource to find authors, pop culture icons, politicians, and many others. Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia This database provides over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas, including many images and charts. World Book Encyclopedia Online offers access to full-text World Book entries and many photographs, maps, and charts. A special section on exploring Utah that provides links to applicable encyclopedia articles and information on the state, biographies of important Utahans, and information about the State’s economy and population. This online reference resource also includes an atlas and a dictionary. This is a great place to begin any research assignment.
