MEDLINE Plus is the sure cure for what ails you. This online library provided by the National Library of Medicine and the National Institute of Health provides the best researched and most respected medical information available to the public. Tutorials about health conditions, drug information, symptoms, and possible treatments are all compiled in easy to read articles from outstanding medical authorities: including the Mayo Clinic, the American Heart Association, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and many hundreds more. THE best place to begin reading about any medical condition or concern.

Utah Health Net Produced by the University of Utah’s Eccles Health Sciences Library, Utah Health Net is a free online resource directed at keeping Utahans healthy. Using a zip code or county map, you can also search for available medical resources in your area

Utah Department of Health This resource, provided for free by the State of Utah, includes information about local health issues. The Department of Health also includes access to information about birth certificates, Medicaid, and the Utah Children’s Health Insurance Program.

American Academy of Pediatrics This great website brings together articles from many outstanding organizations about a variety of children’s health issues. From adoption to ADHD to Disaster Preparedness, this website includes vital information for parents and families.

MEDLINE provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree, tree hierarchy, subheadings and explosion capabilities to search citations from over 4,800 current biomedical journals. Health Source: Consumer Edition provides information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health. Gain access to nearly 80 full text, consumer health magazines. It offers libraries full text articles for more than 180 international and often peer-reviewed journals and reports. Science Encyclopedia Gales’ Science Encylopedia offers thousands of topics covering a wide range of scientific subjects, and includes numerous images and charts. About the City of Orem Library

The Orem Library is open Monday through Friday 9am until 9pm and on Saturdays from 9am until 6pm. We are closed Sundays and Holidays. Click here for a list of observed holidays.

If you need to return books outside of these hours, a 24 drive through book and media drop is located on the North side of the Library.

The Main Library is located at 58 North State Street in Orem, Utah at the north end of the City Center Complex (on the northeast corner of State and Center Streets). Parking is to the east of the library building and is accessed from 100 North. If you need assistance please call 229-7050.
