How Long Can I Keep Items?
  • Materials check out for 3 weeks with two 3-week renewals. Exceptions are:
  • Items on hold – 3-week checkout, no renewal
  • Music CDs and cassette tapes (limit of 30) – 3-week checkout with two 3-week renewals
  • DVDs/Videos – 2 week checkout, $1.00 fee, optional 2-week renewal for $1.00 fee
  • Nonfiction/Very Young DVDs/Videos – 2-week checkout with two 2-week renewals (no fee)
  • Board/Video Games (limit of 3 each) – 3-week checkout with two 3-week renewals
Are there any restrictions due to COVID-19 at the library?

What if I Can’t Find What I Need?
  • Requests may be placed on an item in the catalog that is checked out or is otherwise unavailable. To make a request, call 229-7175 or click on My Account.
  • Provo City Library allows Orem Public Library card users to register their card free of charge. The Provo Library website may be accessed at www.provolibrary.com
  • Interlibrary Loan Service is available to Orem Library patrons for many items that Orem or Provo Library does not own. To make an Interlibrary Loan Request, click here, or call 801-229-7175.

Does the library have study rooms available for use?
  • We currently offer 6 study rooms, located in the library’s south wing, for use on a first come, first serve basis.  Rooms may not be reserved ahead of time.  Our study rooms vary in size, with the largest able to accommodate up to 6 people.  For more information, please visit our General Reference Services page.
Does the library accept donations?
  • Yes, the library accepts donations of gently used books, CDs and DVDs.  However, we do not accept encyclopedia sets, textbooks, magazines, newspapers, VHS tapes, or audio tapes. Please limit your donations to one box or call 801-229-7398 to make an appointment.
